Baby's Spag Bol Recipe

Spaghetti Bolognese is Oscar's absolute favourite! It is such an easy meal to make and so cheap too! One batch goes a long way and can be stored frozen.

You will need:

1 white onion, diced
1 clove garlic finely cut
1 carrot
1 stick celery
1 small tray beef mince
1 tin plum tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp oregano
2 tsp fresh basil
Olive oil
Grated cheese to top
Baby pasta or spaghetti pasta broken into small manageable pieces

Sauce
Sweat onion, celery and carrots together with a splash of olive oil in pan until soft. Add garlic and fry for one minute. Then add the mince and cook until browned. Add tin of tomatoes and break down with spoon. Add tomato purée and herbs and leave to simmer on a low heat stirring at intervals until the liquid has reduced.

Pasta
Add pasta to pan and cover with water. Cook to packet's instructions. Usually takes up to around 12 minutes.

Plate up and top with cheese! This can also be kept in freezeable containers. Alternatively you can use leftovers to make Chilli Con Carne.
